Therapeutic Modalities
Individual Therapy
Whether unforeseen or longstanding, situations and conflicts can gradually or suddenly and unexpectedly throw a previously content life outlook into a chaotic mixture of uncomfortable and uncertain feelings, that might include depression, hopelessness, loneliness, anger, anxiety, distress, panic, identity confusion …and others.
Psychotherapy offers a confidential therapeutic relationship…
for exploring and addressing feelings about one’s self, identity, and relationships with others while determining solutions for changing or accepting those problems, issues or unexpected crises that have brought you to this place.
Therapeutic perspectives and interventions used in my practice…
are based on evidence-based psychological constructs and the underlying biological processes that impact personality development, emotional and behavioral responses to distress and other factors that can affect your feelings of well-being and satisfaction with your life and relationships with others. During the therapy process we collaboratively search for meanings and solutions using ideas anchored and validated by psychological concepts that you haven’t already tried. A psychotherapeutic approach involves collaboratively identifying and implementing goals and interventions that employ varied approaches, such as solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion focused therapy, existential therapy, play therapy, interpersonal therapy, or others which are adapted as appropriate to create unique evidence based approaches tailored to your specific situation.
For therapy to help, it is very important that you experience a safe and comfortable relationship with a therapist who can be attuned to you and your needs. Please contact me for a 15 min free consultation to determine if I may be that person for you.
